ViewXtreme is a research project under the auspices of the Image, Video and Multimedia Systems Group at Stanford University. Our novel video streaming paradigm enables watching high-resolution videos with pan/tilt/zoom functionality, without requiring any extra bandwidth (as compared to a Standard-Definition video).

Using ViewXtreme's cutting-edge video technology, educational institutes can fully automate lecture capturing and publishing, with minimal infrastructure and operation costs, while creating an immersive experience for both on-campus and remote students. A network connection and a video camera (provided by ViewXtreme) is all you need to make any of your classrooms ready for online education!

ViewXtreme enables students to watch their classes anytime and anywhere, while following the course material at their own pace. Online students feel closer to the real classroom by controlling the view to watch - they can view the lecturer, or the presentation slides, or the boards, or one of the in-class students!

ViewXtreme's lecture-capturing software and platform is available free to qualifying academic institutions. Please let us know (by clicking here) if you would be
interested in running a ViewXtreme pilot at your institute.
